Programme 03

Youth Leadership & Skills Development

Young people are not only beneficiaries. They are mentors, volunteers, organisers, innovators and practical community problem-solvers.

Young volunteers planning a community activity
01

Leadership through service

NGI creates structured opportunities for young people and emerging community leaders to practise responsibility, teamwork, safeguarding, documentation and accountable community action.

02

What we do

Activities combine personal development, practical exposure and service to others.

  • Youth volunteer and mentor teams
  • Training in leadership, communication, teamwork and accountability
  • Community service, hygiene campaigns and tree planting
  • Career guidance and responsible role-model conversations
  • Savings, agriculture, poultry, crafts, digital basics and opportunity awareness
  • Youth-led documentation, storytelling and local problem-solving meetings
03

Honest youth positioning

NGI’s internal leadership bracket is 18–35 years. When a programme or donor uses a narrower definition of youth, NGI applies that requirement honestly and fronts eligible leaders.
